| 1818 Society British Chapter. Christmas Lunch 5 December, 2009
The 2009 Christmas lunch for the British Chapter of the 1818 Society took place on Saturday, 5 December at the Thistle Hotel, Euston, London. Sixty three members and guests met in the Brasserie of the hotel for a reception followed by a sit-down lunch. Wine flowed, the service was excellent and the hotel provided Christmas party hats and crackers to add to the seasonal cheer. Members in party regalia can be seen in the photos. As this was a social occasion, not a business meeting, there were no speeches but Mick Nightingale, Chairman of the British Chapter, welcomed everyone attending. Old friends took the opportunity to catch up on news and conversations continued until almost 4.00pm. The Thistle Hotel provided a special room rate and a number of members took advantage of this offer to spend one or two nights in London before or after the day of the lunch. |
