Our Twentieth Annual Meeting and Spring Reunion will be held in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, over the weekend of Friday 16 th to Sunday 18 th May, 2008. We will be staying at the Swan’s Nest Hotel, which is part of the Macdonald Hotels Group. The hotel is on the banks of the River Avon and is easily accessible to the town centre via the Tramway Bridge.
The weekend has been planned to enable you to appreciate the heritage – particularly that connected to Shakespeare and his family – that made the town famous. It includes a town walkabout, a reception at the Shakespeare Centre (opened in 1964 by Eugene R Black, World Bank President from 1949 to 1963), a visit to the town’s Butterfly Farm, a back stage tour and attendance at a matinee performance of a Shakespearian play. Mrs Vikki Heywood, Chief Executive of the Royal Shakespeare Company, will be delivering the after dinner speech on Saturday. The Annual Meeting on Sunday, followed by a traditional Sunday roast lunch, will conclude the Spring Reunion. |
